The Crisis of Wallis Simpson covers the week leading up to the Abdication speech of Edward VIII on Friday 11th December 1936. Wallis Simpson is holed up at the Villa Lou Viei in Cannes with her friends Kitty and Herman Rogers, hiding from the world’s press.
As events in London unfold towards endgame, Wallis - the square peg in the round hole around whom government, Monarchy and Empire grind to a brief, shuddering halt - weighs her own terrifying options.
